What I thrifted - nude booties

I seriously considered buying the Report Mark nude booties that Suz and others have when they were first out. Then I started coveting the DV Jousts when they started popping up. I was wanting nude booties but to be honest, wasn't really wanting to spend any serious money on them.

Well no need to worry about it any further - I found my nude booties with a slightly western feel to them (to feed my love of cowboy boots) at Value Village tonight for a whopping $7.99. Here they are - unstyled by the way. They are ridiculously comfortable and look unworn. The one weird thing is there is no brand identification on them ANYWHERE...whatever.

I also thrifted two very cool rings - one gold metallic one with three orange stones in it and one sterling silver one that is made of tiny flowers with an antique finish. Unfortunately the picture of the silver one doesn't really show anything.

Now I'm having a glass of wine - the very wine as shown in my last photo. Yummy Canadian malbec red...have a lovely evening my YLFers!

Your thrifting skills are amazing. I've been looking for booties with no luck, maybe I need to hit the thrift stores too. The fringe are fun and so are the rings. Enjoy your wine :)

Those booties are TOO much fun! What a find. And I may need to go pour myself a glass of wine : )

Nice! They remind me of Anna's Isabel Marant inspired boots. Do you have ideas on how to style those for winter, or will they be a transitional shoe for you? I was wondering this about my Reports.

Great boots--what an amazing find! And Naked Grape is one of my favourite wines. Cheap and tasty!

Don't know which is more delightful - your thrifting finds or your glass of wine!

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

I should have opened another bottle of wine so we could all share!

Ariadne - isn't it delicious? The malbec is my favourite of their wines, followed by the shiraz. For the price point, it's very good.

Rae - I'm going to try styling them for winter as well as fall. Now with the amount of snow we get and our cold, winter wearing will be restricted to indoors and actual winter boots are required outdoors. I'm picturing them with nude micro fishnets and dresses or skirts, as well as under trousers or jeans. And until the snow flies, I can wear them outside so am also kind of liking them with the BF jeans. Got any fab ideas for me???

How fun! I bought cheapo nude booties too because I wasn't sure how much I'd actually wear them. I wore them with skinnies and a leopard blouse the other day and I LOVE them. you will have so much fun with them!!

I am not sure - on the one hand I don't want them to die an early death because I've already worn my Reports into the ground. So I *could* put them away for the winter. But they are so comfy and go with so much! I liked wearing them with skinnies when I was on vacation.

Great find! I have a problem thrifting shoes - I just can't get past the ick factor of wearing used shoes. Do you clean them somehow or just look for ones that look unworn?

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

Katie - you're so sweet! Thank you.

Rita - I saw that oufit on you and LOVE it! It is going to be my inspiration for these booties. So glad you like yours.

Rae - of course, your winter and my winter are vastly different!

Sara - I always look for unworn and really like when I can find them with the tags from the original store still on them. If they are not brand new, I see if there is an insole I can remove and replace with a Dr. Scholls insole - that removes the ick factor for me. Otherwise, forget it!

Thanks Jayne - if you have styling ideas, would love to hear them!
