Theory Gabe fit questions

I'm on the hunt for a good quality black blazer - I had a knit version that I'm out of love with and no longer wearing and a black leather blazer that I adore but I don't always want to wear leather.

I would like a classic "no fuss, bells or whistles" kind of blazer. The kind that you can wear with dress pants to work on those days you need to be more corporate or can pop over a white tee and jeans, scrunch the sleeves, grab a great clutch and go to casual dinner with hubby. You know the kind...

Due to my recent eBay purchase of a Theory Lanai navy blazer, I am ALL OVER the quality of Theory. LOVE IT! Full stop. But I can't afford the full price. However, the very same eBay seller I bought my Lanai from now has the same size in a black Theory Gabe blazer.

Of course the Gabe is a completely different cut than the Lanai. The Lanai is great on my shoulders, probably a wee bit large in the upper bust area but not a deal break for me, and just barely fits my ample waist it it were a button style. The cut away style and shorter length work well on my petite apple frame.

Does anyone know how the Gabe would compare in fit and sizing to the Lanai? Would the Gabe be much too long on 5 foot me? Any info you have would be greatly appreciated :)

The 10 in the Lanai and the 10 in the Gabe were perfect fits for me. I have a short upper torso and didn't find the jacket overly long. I could also button it comfortably, which I can't always do with jackets that fit my shoulders but not my bust.

Now that I'm thinking about this, why didn't I buy the Gabe? hahaha

I am on my phone but I posted pix on here of the Gabe on me. I am going to be selling mine - the fit and style are not working for me as I'd hoped and I do feel it is a bit off on me somehow.

I think Marley has a Gabe?

Vix has a Gabe, I think. But they've got two versions now, so you'll need to ensure you're talking about the same one.

I tried one on in Toronto last year, Shannon (the older version -- this year's is a change). It was long-ish but not TOO long, I think. Although there was dissension in the ranks here about that. I have awful phone pics only...they are on one of my threads somewhere -- can try to find the link if you like.

I have the older version of the Gabe, from quite a few years ago.  I can post a picture later tonight if that would help.

Shannon I think it would be a wonderful addition to your closet. Was this seller willing to return if the fit was wrong? So far you have had wonderful success with your ebay adventures...I know I am a terrible enabler. :)

Thanks ladies! I'm going to find out which version of the Gabe it is to start with.

Una - I went back and looked at your pics from when you posted your K/R about the Gabe. That's actually kind of the look I'm after - slightly longer and almost "boy friendly". Hmmmm...

Suz - I'll go find your link - thanks.

Tanya - please don't trouble yourself. I think I have enough pics from others here. How did you find it fit - TTS?

Amy - yeah, so why didn't you buy the Gabe??? - lol!

ETA: Glory - cross posted - just saw your comment. Yes, this seller has a wonderful full refund return policy. The only thing I'd be out is the return postage if it didn't fit.

Shannon, I do find it pretty TTS.  Mine is not slightly longer or boyfriendly at all - but then I do have a very long torso.

Thanks Tanya - I have anything BUT a long torso - lol!
