Spring/Summer Shopping List

Have spent the better part of a week going through my out-of-season closet to determine what I have for spring/summer that a) still fits; b) I still like; and c) is still stylish.

Based on that, I've come up with a list that I think will work well with what I will be keeping from last year as well as with the new pastel blue suit and the EF drapey dress (which is on its way) which I've recently purchased.

Would love for you to have a peek at the list and see if you think these make sense in relation to my current style.

Thanks :)

  • Lightweight leather jacket in "new to me" color
  • White drapey wide legged trousers (must be washable)
  • Black dressy track pant
  • V-neck linen/linen blend tees in white, pale blue and lilac (good on their own and also for layering in cold A/C)
  • Slip on loafers in a light color
  • 2 light weight fluid knit pullovers in pale pink and grey
  • Possible item: white jeans (TR Brianna's still fit so will decide later if need to replace)
  • Wild card item: AG Nikki jeans (unsure of yet due to fluctuating weight)

Applauding your list and the work that went into it.
For your leather jacket, how about blush/pink/peach as a color but also neutral? I keep beating myself up for being cheap and not going for the blush leather moto offered at 2012 NAS.

BTW I should mention that I won't be purchasing the trousers, track pants or potential jeans until probably April or so. My Endocrinologist has started me on a new medication and a fairly strict low glycemic index eating plan to try and get my insulin resistance under control. If this combination works, I should be dropping some of this excess weight. I think purchasing the tops any time soon will be ok though as the fluid fit will work regardless.

I love your list Shannon! Its a very well thought one :)

I am making a list too. To keep my shopping in check. Mental lists no longer work!

    Nice list!

I will eagerly await seeing the white trousers! I haven't jumped on the white pants train because last year they were all jeans...mostly skinnies and BFs. White fluid wide leg might be possible for me. I hope you find them!

I will be doing the same thing soon.  All my spring/summer stuff is still packed away but I don't want to buy anything until I know what I have and what I need.  I think your list is comprehensive and will give you some fun options to spruce up your current wardrobe.

Looks like a great list, Shannon.  I'd love to know if you've found a source for the linen v-neck tees.  The only question I would have is:  Are you ready to have a larger percentage of your wardrobe in pastels and lighter tones?  You look good in many of them, so I don't see a problem with flattery.  The question is more how they make you feel and how they pair with what is already in your closet.  I'm thinking about this, too, since I'm so obviously a high contrast girl.  So far, I'm leaning toward aqua and orchid as my best bets.  Your coloring would open up far more possibilities, I think.

Shannon your list is fantastic. I must have missed the post on the new dress - excited to see that.
I am curious if during your review you noticed a major shift in style from last spring / summer?
I would love to know where you source the Ts and the soft fluid sweaters from.

This sounds like a superb list, Shannon. And on the other note, I hope that you are able to get your insulin resistance under control. It is terrible how stress can play havoc with us.

I feel like I want to revise my list a bit.

I already bought 3 linen tees on sale from J. Crew -- navy, white, and pink. They are boat neck, however. But I feel really great having them. Last year the drapey tees I bought self-destructed even before I wore them -- it was terrible! So I'm glad to have these ready for me.

I still have not purchased the Nikki jeans, either, but I am very likely to spring on those soon. I will also need some kind of footwear and a new topper or two. Especially since they are predicting a cold summer for us.

This looks like a great list, kudos to thinking ahead.

Fun! I think you've thought this out well. Believe it or not, I don't want anything particular, except maybe more boots (ha!) or shoes. But I'm sure that will change.

I agree the list is well thought out and all great additions to your style.  Sending best wished that the Endocronolgists program works well with the added benefit of a new pants size!!!!

Way to go, Shannon!  I like the sound of all those soft colours and fluid fits.  Can't wait to see what you end up with!

Looks like a well thought out list. Insulin resistance is a bummer - hope things settle down soon :) :)

Shannon, I'm sorry to hear you're having an issue with insulin resistance. I hope you get it all sorted out soon and feel better fast.

Your list sounds exciting! Isn't it fun planning for the next season? I've been going through my closet and making lists as well. Those Nikkis look intriguing, I must say, and maybe the price will come down a bit while you're waiting to pounce. Fingers crossed!

Great list! I share several items with you the white trousers and some new fluid fit Ts. I hope the medication and eating plan with help with your insulin resistance challenges. Here's to spring :)
