Yay for saving the skirt! I like your list for summer. It is still early so maybe other holes or wants would pop up later.

I got my black easy summer dresses from 6pm for a song. Have you checked them out?
Amazing photo ... I am so impressed with the patience of nature photographers.

Unfortunately 6pm doesn't deliver to Canada (see point #4 above...)

Thanks for the update and glad you saved that skirt. Can't really help with dress recommendations but I can certainly recommend what you are looking for for summer. I have a few black summer dresses and they come out every year.
Hubby's photo is just beautiful. What dedication and passion he must have to be able to patiently wait for the "right" moment.

Yay to no more coffee stains!
Yay to taking back that jacket that just wasn't earning a place in your wardrobe.
Yay to that exquisite photo of a dragonfly by darling hubby!
Thanks for the love and right back at you :)

Amazing photo! Don't give up on your dress and vest, they may show up where you least expect them.

Cool photo! He must have been thrilled to capture that.
Sorry about the shipping to CA. That does sound frustrating when you all post about it. I think your package arrived today though so Yay!
It's funny when we discover what we thought would be "perfect" is not really all we dreamed. I tried on some things I had checked out on Nordstrom website and discovered they were really no t "all that". I can only imagine how upset I would have been had I had to wait for shipping.
Good luck on the dress and vest - you will stumble on them when you least expect :)

What a talented photographer your hubby is!
Glad you got the coffee stain out--what did you use?
We love you too Shannon!

I got myself a great denim vest at Value Village the other day, by buying a jean jacket I liked and hacking off the sleeves! It actually works well since the sleeve is double stitched to the jacket it's easy to trim "very* close to the stitching and not have any unraveling going on.
Easy peasy, and I"ve probably worn it about 4 times already, and then went and bought a white one (denim vest) at Smart Set cause I loved the denim one so much!

Natalie - good old soap and water on the coffee stain. That was it. I think the fact that I quickly rinsed the stain before it even had a chance to dry is what saved the skirt.
Kim - I was thinking of trying a DIY on a denim jacket too, if I can find one. Glad yours worked out for you!
Angie - I'm learning that if something in my closet isn't being worn, out it goes. It's precious real estate and there's no room (or desire) for orphans.

Shannon, that is such a beautiful photo!! Congrats to your husband.
And congrats to you for taking such good care of your wardrobe. Weeding, tending, and growing!! I am with you 100% on getting rid of whatever is not earning its keep. I have taken to consigning items more and more if they don't meet my needs.

Great all around! Except the slow delivery, of course. Kudos to Hubby! That is an amazing picture- thanks for sharing.

Hubby is so pleased that you all like his photo. He's very self critical when it comes to his work. He's also very much a purist when it comes to photography and it took him a while to actually come around to digital and put away his film. He also never uses photoshop - says he never wants to mess with Mother Nature!

Shannon, mwah! Wishing you shopping luck for the summer potholes...
You know, that photo is awesome not only because of the perfect positioning of the wings and the patience *that* took, but also because of the background, which means choosing a good angle --- and yeah, it's a blur, but the colours STILL need composing. LOVE!

I like your precious real estate strategy, Shannon.

Yay for saving the skirt! That was an amazing outfit the other day, and I'm sure there will be many more with that skirt!
And, wow! I LOVE your hubby's amazing picture!

That photo is absolutely incredible! I love the iridescent colors of dragonflies.
So glad that the stain came out!
For a black dress for summer, maybe keep an eye on Karen Kane - not a lot of black dresses now, but they had quite a lot last year.
