K/R RL Skinny BF's & a fab thrift find

First up - I ordered these Ralph Lauren Denim & Supply premium Skinny BF jeans. I absolutely LOVE my TR Cameron slim BF jeans because I don't feel overwhelmed by the amount of fabric and they fit nicely on the thighs. But sometimes I find the large flap rear pockets distracting depending on the top or jacket I'm wearing. So I wanted something that fit the same way, but with flat rear pockets and no adornments. These fit that bill.

These are my true size and to be honest, I would love to size up one to see how they look but alas, this is the largest size these jeans come in :( Knowing past RL jeans and pants I've worn, I suspect these will loosen up considerably. I love the wash, lack of rips or tears and the fit in the legs (obviously they need shortening). The denim is extremely soft and I find these super comfortable. But I need some YLF feedback on how they look in terms of fit. So Keep or Return?

Secondly I wanted to show you my fantastic thrift find this week. I've been wanting a Chanel-esque style cropped jacket with pink in it for Spring and on a whim, popped into my Value Village on the way home from work yesterday. Lo and behold, here was this J Crew cropped tweed jacket with pink and lime green in it with pretty gold buttons. It is in pristine condition (not sure it's ever been worn) and fit perfectly. At $12.99 it was a total steal. I obviously wouldn't wear it buttoned up like this, but wanted to show you how fab the fit was. 

And yes…this is serious bed head. Just got up a while ago, had coffee and whole grain blueberry waffles, tossed in a load of laundry and took these pics. Now it's time to shower and head out to get groceries. Catch ya later…

    What an amazing jacket!  And look -- the sleeves even work!  This will be a great pick-me-up for spring!

    I like the jeans -- I'm not a fan of the wash in the back --- Why do they put a lighter blue on the thighs?  This is probably more noticable in photos.  The pockets are not obtrusive, which is one of the reasons I love my Levi's, and I like the slouch in the knees and the amount of taper you'll get once you hem.

    I think the jeans are just right and I think they will loosen enough to make you happy. THat jacket is a killer deal and you must promise if you ever rid yourself of it you will let me buy it from you! Drool..

    Oh WOW. Ok, first the jeans. I think it's more important to have the looseness in the legs than it is in the rear, so these look just right to me. The rear might loosen up, and if it does, that's fine too. But they do not look to tight at all to me. Good job!

    NOW. The jacket. I am (pink and) green with envy! First, that you are able to wear a collarless Chanel style jacket (when I cannot) and second, that you found this perfect, mint condition, in-your-size, don't-even-have-to-have-the-sleeves-altered, J. Crew jacket! For $12.99!! Why, that will go with everything from BF jeans to a LBD, and I'll bet it even looks fab with a floral summer frock as well. I hope you will treat us to many WIW's that include that jacket Shannon, it's just perfection on you!

    Great scores Shannon!  I think those BFs are a really good fit on you - can't wait to see them hemmed.  Also - I predict that jacket will be a workhorse for you this spring.  Have fun wearing both items!

    I like the jeans a lot.  Grey looks so good with your hair!  The jacket is amazing, too!  It fits you so well.  Great find!

    Beth Ann - I was amazed at the sleeve length too. That never happens for me!

    Angie - thank you for the jean size validation. I wore them around for a while today and these are indeed the right size and oh so comfy.

    April - lol! It's true isn't it? No one other than a Fabber would have a clue what we meant.

    Jeanne - if I decide to get rid of the jacket, it's all yours!

    Claire - you have hit on a major realization I have had recently. The fit of any pants in the thigh area is the most important fit for me to be happy in pants. Too loose and I feel sloppy; too tight and I feel like a sausage. Can you believe the luck in finding this jacket?

    Love the fit of the jeans - I even like the folded up hem but I understand hemming is the sensible thing to do. Amazing find at the thrift store! Perfect!
