K/R EF open knit hi-lo cardigan

This is another one of my fall EF eBay orders. It's a dark brown/charcoal open knit cardigan with an exaggerated hi-lo hem.

The knit is unbelievably soft, even with the metallic sparkle here and there. The drape and weight is perfect IMHO. And even though the back portion is very long, it's supposed to be. This is petite so the fit is right.

This is just a very quick styling as I'm heading out the door in a few minutes. In the winter I would be adding tights to this ensemble. I can also see this cardigan with both my burgundy and black skinnies, jeans and more that I can't think of off the top of my head.

This won't be to everyone's liking but I kinda love it. Do let me know if you see anything glaringly wrong with it cause otherwise I'm keeping it .

I love it, too. Scrunch the sleeves?

The sparkle's amazing. Really cool textural piece. No real warmth of course but that is not always needed.

I quite like it too.  I had a similar sweater with metallic but lighter weight and wore it with everything from jeans to cocktail dresses and it worked well.  I think it is a keeper and should be very versatile.

It would also look awesome with dark RED.

Totally love it on you Shannon, arty and retro all at the same time. I think you'll have lots of fun with this one!

Suz - ummmm sleeves are scrunched in pic 1...and yeah, no real warmth but that's ok with me especially since my office is very warm in the winter.

Dianthus - it would indeed look smashing with dark red :)

Aida - it will definitely be fun trying different combos.

  • Suz replied 9 years ago

Yeah, sorry - I was looking at the 3rd pic when I said that. Mea culpa, gorgeous one!!

I agree with Dianthus. It would look awesome with RED!!!

Also with just about everything else in your closet.

A hundred thumbs up. Looks gorgeous, Shannon. And quite UWP.

Beautiful cardigan Shannon, I think it is a keeper.  It looks very versatile.

Stunning! I am more impressed seeing it on you more than the stock photo. Fits is fab and it just looks gorgeous. Of course I love it with black but dark red would just lovely. What about over your black EF pants? Of course you know my leanings, I think it will be most striking in more neutral combinations, and I do consider dark red a neutral ;) Keep!

Yup - another thumbs-up from my end.  The big white ticket in the back adds a real punch of brightness and adds some individuality to the look too.

I like it way better on you than the stock photo.

Sorry Shannon.  No disrespect intended with my silliness. That's what happens when I'm on here on a Friday night after a long week. Well , that and a glass of wine:)  I love this sweater - perfect fit, length, everything.  Keeper!

I really like this look on you, Shannon! It looks comfy, casual yet polished. I vote KEEP!

    Yummy cardi!

  • Aubergine replied 9 years ago

    Definite keep!

I like this so much better than the other open cardigan you were thinking about a few weeks ago. And it looks like the perfect neutral to go with everything.

I love it! I need to troll ebay for EF. I also need to look at your stylings for this dress since I have one.

  • Sveta replied 9 years ago

It is a great cardigan as cardigans go. I am enjoying to watch your love affair with Ms. EF! :-)

  • Marley replied 9 years ago

Gorgeous sweater and it looks great on you!
Do you have some identified neural and accent colors for your wardrobe?  Just wondering how this color fits into the whole scheme of things.

  • gryffin replied 9 years ago

Stunning Shannon!!  Is that from EF's chain mail collection?  I loved it but could not wear that color.  I love long cardi's almost as much as long jackets.  I agree with dianthus 100% - it's that perfect piece that works casual, work and coctail/formal.  Incredibly versatile and lovely!!  Enjoy it looks fabulous on!!

  • SarahTheWhite replied 9 years ago

Whoa. Love this! I have a soft spot for long sweaters, and I really like the length and shape of the high low hem. This looks like it fits you perfectly!

  • BethL replied 9 years ago

Love this on you, Shannon. I think it's a good addition to your wardrobe. It fits you beautifully and is very flattering, plus it will go with so much. I could even see it with your new Docs and jeans. Enjoy!

Sorry I'm late popping back to my thread - it has been a very busy weekend thus far.

I'm glad you like this cardi for me. It's a bit different for me. I will definitely be trying all sorts of combos, casual and dressy.

Deborah - will be trying it with my EF faux wrap front pants for sure.

Gryffin - yes, I believe it is from the chain mail collection. There are quite a few of those pieces that are lovely. I normally can't wear dark brown either but the sparkle bits somehow make it work.

Lisa - maybe I should leave the white tag on - lol!
