Keep or Re-Thrift: Flare Jeans

I thrifted these Vigoss jeans about a month ago but with the oppressive heat we've been having, who is really thinking about jeans??? But I had a bit of time while hubby, Dad and son are off doing "guy things" to pop them on and post pics.

I like the retro flare of these jeans and the slight distressing here and there. I also like the faded wash for casual wear, which is what I'm looking for. The fit is good (I think) - the rise is definitely on the higher end but that kind of works for me as it holds in my wobbly bits.

Anway, over to you...how is the fit? Are they worth hemming (I need to take off about an inch) and wearing? Or do I just send them back to the thrift shop?

Thanks for looking!

    Keep and hem! :-)

These have serious potential, hem and wear as soon as the weather allows.

I think they are very flattering. Keep vote from me.

Keep! They look great on you.

  • ironkurtin replied 11 years ago

Wait, why are you hemming them? They seem the right length wit the shoes you have on.

  • Mona replied 11 years ago

    definitely keep

IK - I was actually stepping on them and the pants go under the heels of my shoes so I do need to take them up a bit.

  • Kiwichik replied 11 years ago

I like them - a definite keeper - very flattering.

Very nice! Hem them and you'll be set!

They look good! Are these the height of shoes you would be wearing with these? These days I tend to hem all my jeans for my highest shoes and then when they inevitably shrink in length after many washings, they work with lower shoes as well.

Definitely keep!! And before you hem them, try them with your highest heels. Flares and boot cuts just beg for heels. A nice tall high heeled boot looks best under them.

    Cheers

    Great fit - keep!

Keep! Maybe you'll inspire me to figure out how to wear my flares. Which I worn a grand total of ONE time.

  • Glory replied 11 years ago

You look great in these - I vote keep.

  • Jjsloane replied 11 years ago

Keep and hem. The pant legs make yours look long.

  • Mo replied 11 years ago

Definitely a keep - and I agree maybe don't hem them just yet until you try all your shoes.

These make you look so cute and curvy Shannon! Keep! I love the side view.

    I like them!

Fab :) The Look retro 70s and look great on you!

  • Jamie replied 11 years ago

Love them on you, and a definite keep!

  • JulieJohn replied 11 years ago

Love 'em! You will rock them come Fall.

As a fellow shortie (5'0") I know your hemming skills must be excellent. If I had kept all the inches I cut off pants I could make a new pair of pants out of 'em. tee hee

Too hot to think about jeans? *ahem* BF jeans? ;)

  • ManidipaM replied 11 years ago

Oh, that's a *great* fit, and a very flattering flare. Definitely KEEP! Seconding Diana though --- I'm really flummoxed by how much some jeans shrink with washing.

  • Deborah replied 11 years ago

They look great! Nice fit and I like the subtle distressed look. The do need hemming but flares do require heels so don't take too much off. What shies do you think you will wear with them?

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

Heather - you caught me! It's true, I was also trying the BF jeans during our heat wave. I wonder why I was so darned eager to get at the BF's and left these ones....hmmm.....

I'm going to try these jeans with my Doc Marcie's and see about the length. Here I'm wearing them with my Doc Danielle animal print shoes which are my highest shoes. My Marcie's are my highest boots and in order to comfortably walk about, I wouldn't go any higher than those.

I'm so glad you all like them. I thought they were pretty good - and for $3.99 at the thrift store to boot!

Late to the party, but I like 'em, too! Retro, casual, cute!

  • Angie replied 11 years ago

I like them too! Hem and have fun with the look.

  • RunnerChick replied 11 years ago

Definitely a keeper! They do look like the right length for you, though...I'm with the others who suggest waiting before you hem them.
