In store coat help (ETA home pics added)

Returned the navy coat (thanks) and found this lux cashmere blend red-berry anne Klein coat. Sleeves are too long and it has room to layer a blazer. These are terrible pics but what do you think? Buy or walk away?

ETA: So at home now and have taken a few more pictures that hopefully show the coat a bit better. The last two pics are with a sweater and my Theory blazer underneath - I need to be sure it can be layered for the cold. What do you think now that you can see it better? I ended up having to overexpose the pics a bit to show the detail but unfortunately that has skewed the color some. The color is more properly represented in the first three pics from the store. If keep, I will have to get the sleeves shortened (no biggie) and should possibly look at having the belt loops raised a bit, although I'm not sure it's bad where they are placed.

Would love your feedback - right now, I'm inclined to keep. And the cashmere fabric feels AMAZING! Thanks all :)

  • Ornella replied 10 years ago

Buy and show us better photos from home for final decision. But, so far it looks great!

  • shedev replied 10 years ago

the color is really pretty on you.

  • Emily replied 10 years ago

Gorgeous colour on you, does it match your lipstick?  The fit looks good from here.  I vote yes.

  • replied 10 years ago

Well, you do look fantastic in red and I think red goes with your wardrobe.  The sleeve looks better fitted to your arm (other than length of coarse).  From what I can see I like it on you.  How's the back?

  • Transcona Shannon replied 10 years ago

It has my usual back fit issues but is easier to deal with because of the tie.... Reined in excess you know?

  • Mellllls replied 10 years ago

i really like it but agree that sleeves are too long!  macys??

  • Transcona Shannon replied 10 years ago

Winners (I'm Canadian). Will need sleeves shortened as I always do. Not a deal breaker

  • Transcona Shannon replied 10 years ago

Bought it and will show more pics later. Thanks!

Back fit issues can be fixed by moving belt loops up to my natural waist so no back excess fabric.

  • replied 10 years ago

I think this coat is much better than the other one. Stunning colour on you.

  • cheryle (Dianthus) replied 10 years ago

I am not sure I have ever seen you in that color but hope I do again.

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

From what I can make out, a 20 out of 10.

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

YAY. Can't wait to see it in more detail.

  • Vildy replied 10 years ago

Just breathtaking. And in picture 1, with the collar close in and the lipstick.... oh man, it's to swoon over.

  • Caro in Oz replied 10 years ago

What Vildy wrote, keep for sure :)

  • minimalist replied 10 years ago

That color is simply T.D.F. And even layered, the coat looks sleek on you. Bring on winter! Was in TO for a week of rain this time last year; now I'm getting nostalgic.

  • JulieJohn replied 10 years ago

Such a pretty color on you, Shannon. I'm glad you found it, just in time for chilly temps!

  • amiable replied 10 years ago

It's completely gorgeous (and so are you!)

  • Vix replied 10 years ago

    Keep x100!

The color is beautiful on you and I agree you can do the collar up or down. I actually think you can skip getting the belt loops raised but you know best if that makes a difference in comfort/fit.

ps I did like the flounce hem coat on you, but it looked non-petite-friendly.

  • Debra replied 10 years ago

    Simple style, delicious colour......looking gorgeous.
    I say keep :)

  • Isabel replied 10 years ago

OMG ! I know that envy is a deadly sin, but, OMG. It is just beautiful on you...

  • Jjsloane replied 10 years ago

It looks lovely on you, but with coats if it looks this good AND Feels nice I say KEEP. (shoes must be comfy and wool coats must be soft and feel nice)

  • columbine(erin) replied 10 years ago

Sheesh. I love it. You look so fab.

  • Nicole D replied 10 years ago

Love it!  fab colour and great fit (but for the sleeve, eh - whattya gonna do?).

  • Parsley replied 10 years ago

Wow- You're a knockout in this one, Shannon!
I like it about a million times better than the other one!

  • Jaime replied 10 years ago

I'm glad that's settled! Love it!

  • Karie replied 10 years ago

    Gorgeous color, beautiful coat, KEEP!

  • Gaylene replied 10 years ago

    It's a knockout, Shannon!

  • lyn* replied 10 years ago

I love it, what a colour to die for! :3

  • Runcarla replied 10 years ago

Squee!!! I tried this on at our Winners last Wednesday, and again this Wednesday. I think it is one size too big, and not available in the size I need, so left it behind.

I agree that it is a beautiful coat, and so soft! 12% cashmere, 56%wool, the rest nylon or something?! The way it belts really brings it in nicely around the body. I wasn't sure about the colour with my hair, but boy-oh- boy do I love it on you!

  • Amy replied 10 years ago

I like it on you a lot! Nice color to keep the winter blahs away too.

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

Very nice red on you - it does look like your lipstick color, no?
It looks like this is a coat week on YLF! :-)

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

Absolutely lovely on you, Shannon! Yay!

  • Elizabeth P replied 10 years ago

    MUCH better!

Must check out our winners... Red coat was on my wish list last year, with no success...

  • Transcona Shannon replied 10 years ago

Well I guess it's settled then! It is almost the same color as my lipstick and I love how soft and cozy it is. This jacket is staying and I will take it to Wonder Woman on Monday to get the sleeves shortened.

    Thanks ladies :)

  • Day Vies replied 10 years ago

YES! RED! Love it -- much better than the navy.

  • Beth Ann replied 10 years ago

I'm loving the classic belted silhouette, and the deep red is stunning!

Double yay!  You're right that the belt makes the back fit a non-issue!

  • Neel replied 10 years ago

THAT coat is a stunner!  And the color lights up your face!  Brilliant find!

  • shemarie replied 10 years ago

So glad to see you decided to keep this coat Shannon!!  It is perfect.  Just absolutely stunning on you and the perfect antidote to any long, gray winter's day for sure!  Especially in a cozy cashmere.  Red is a neutral, right?!

  • CocoLion replied 10 years ago

    I love it on you!

  • Inge replied 10 years ago

Another yay vote from me, Shannon!

  • pastrygirl replied 10 years ago

    It looks FANTASTIC!!!

  • Glory replied 10 years ago

Shannon! You know how much I love a pop of colour in a coat for our dreary cold and long winters. That is why I loved your citron puffer last year so much - plus of course you look fab in it.
So glad you returned the other and found this beauty. I have actually seen this one at our Winners this week. The fabric is divine - and I think will be cozy and warm. The colour is sensational and the fit is fab. As you say, moving the belt loops and shortening the arms is not a biggy.
I love it, I vote keep.

  • Eliza replied 10 years ago

The color of that coat is gorgeous on you. It sounds soft and comfy, which is getting harder to find lately. It looks like it will play nicely with your wardrobe as well. FTW! Enjoy your coat.

I sometimes like to tie my outerwear with the knot off center, but it could just be a quirky thing on my part.

  • kkards replied 10 years ago

what's not to like? the color is great, love the length, and the belted waist is fab on you! keep.

  • gryffin replied 10 years ago

Hyperventilating here!!  Shannon, wow!!  Love it open, closed, with the scarf.  I cannot believe you have layers under there because the belt really shows off your waist line.  You look breathtakingly awesome!!  Please Keep!!

  • Deborah replied 10 years ago

I am late but so glad to read you are keeping.  It is stunning.  I just checked out your previous post with the navy coat and IMHO there is no comparison.  This was was made for you.

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 10 years ago

Oh, yes! Amazing coat on you. The color is beautiful on you, and so is the style. I really like the versatility of the collar. It looks fab with the Burberry scarf!

  • catgirl replied 10 years ago

This is totally out of this world fab on you, Shannon. You must buy more things in this color.

  • JAileen replied 10 years ago

Glad you decided to keep it - it looks great on you.

  • lyn67 replied 10 years ago
