Consignment Store goodies

I've recently sold a few things in my favourite consignment store and the owner called me today to let me know she had a cheque for me. Of course, there is always the option to take my earnings in trade instead of money.

I looked around a bit and found 5 items worthy of trade instead and I couldn't be happier.

Pics 1-2: Christopher Kon lambskin leather bag with gold hardware. I'm normally not a slouchy bag lover but this bag is gorgeous! The leather is soft like butter, the lining beautiful and the hardware noticeable but not overly "blingy".

Pic 3: Grey enamel inset into silver bangle. I've been looking for a grey bracelet for over a year now and finally found one small enough for my wrist.

Pic 4: Vintage gold/black/faux diamond bracelet. Love!

Pics 5-6: Gorgeous grey/cream abstract pencil skirt, fully lined in a lovely cotton/silk blend. It's a perfect fit and I'm looking forward to wearing it with a chunky sweater ala Angie's formula (when I find the right sweater). Label reads "ADA Fashion" and is a European brand.

Pics 7-10: Stunning LBD with lace front. The dress is a substantial ponte knit, completely lined with a lace front panel, under bust band. I always hear Angie's voice in my head when I see a dress that maybe I don't have an occasion to wear it at just now - when you find a great dress, get it now because you will never find it when you need it. The fit is beautiful and I feel very va-va-voom in it. Label reads "x:s clothing".

So what do you think of my "free" finds?

Wow, what fabulous finds!! I love each and every one of these pieces, Shannon. The pencil skirt in particular intrigues me; I can anticipate you styling that in so many fab ways! It's gorgeous! You can look to Angie's and Deborah's print jacket threads for inspiration; you'll be doing it upside down, but the same idea.

And yes, absolutely, when the right dress comes along, jump at it!

We are consigment buddies today. I walked away with only one thing but it was (I think, I hope!) a good one.

Whoops....just found your thread about your trousers and commented it. Wow!

Your eye continues to find the good stuff. I think you scored well here. Love that LBD on you!

You did well and will be all set for an event with that great LBD and sparkly bracelet.
The patterned skirt will be fun to style. It reminds me of a snow storm.

Wow, you are the world's best thrifter/consignment shopper. The black dress is beautiful on you, and I love that pencil skirt too.

Okay, do you have shopping secrets you can pass on? I mean, seriously.

  • Jaime replied 11 years ago

Great finds! I especially like the black bag and the black dress. I am sure I will love the skirt too, but need to see it on! It is so fun to shop with consignment money isn't it?

  • Sveta replied 11 years ago

Win x5!!! You should be crowned a Queen of Consignment if you are not already!
I am especially excited about dress and skirt - and want to see them styled ASAP.

  • Ariadne replied 11 years ago

Wonderful stuff! I particularly love that pencil skirt. Can't wait to see it with a chunky knit. The LBD is gorgeous too--I can tell it's quality.

  • Deborah replied 11 years ago

Wow Shannon great day's shopping. I love everything but the skirt gets special mention. Love it. Ink blue would look gorgeous with it. And the dress is just beautiful. Well done:)

  • Mona replied 11 years ago

These are all beautiful but the handbag is my favourite and the skirt is gorgeous too.

  • Janet replied 11 years ago

Love them all, especially that skirt! It reminds me of one I got on eBay for a song -- it's Vivienne Tam, and a gorgeous printed silk, but the size was wrong, so even after my weight loss, its tight, but I keep it anyway as my one "just in case" piece. But yours is even better because it fits!

That dress is timeless and so elegant. You simply must FIND an occasion to wear that. Shannon's husband. ARE YOU LISTENING??????

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

Thanks for the love ladies! Glad you like my goodies. I'm looking forward to styling them all for your perusal.

Moira - you crack me up!

  • cheryl replied 11 years ago

You look stunning in that dress and the other items were great finds as well :)

  • texstyle replied 11 years ago

Some great items you chose, the LBD is perfect, the bag has interesting details, the skirt is very unique -- love the bracelets (I'm a bracelet gal) - all in all what a fun success!

  • Nadya replied 11 years ago

Is that bag a gunmetal metallic? I don't usually like metallic bags (for me) but this one I like a lot. All good finds: I agree you need to find somewhere to wear that dress!

  • Sylvie replied 11 years ago

Shannon, I don't know how you do it. What amazing finds!

  • Carole replied 11 years ago

I don't know how you it, that is a fabulous haul! Especially love the bag, bracelets and that skirt!!! Someday I'm going to have to try trifling!
