Column of Grey & Pops of White

I have fallen completely in love with white - as tops, bottoms and accessories. Angie is (of course) completely right in how it can lighten up an outfit.

I've used white accessories today to lighten up an all grey outfit, another colour I love. I've taken my grey sized up skinnies and paired them with my grey Gap mesh sleeve sweater. Then I added my grey (with lime green soles) leather oxfords. Now for the pops of white - a wide leather belt, white watch and my light cream handbag.

I originally had on my python booties but I've been waiting for it to be dry enough to break out these pretty little oxfords and today was the day.

What do you think? does it all work together? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Sweater: Gap
Jeans: Jessica Simpson
Shoes: Rachel Roy

I think it all works beautifully Shannon. Lovely soft greys. I'm thinking of adding more grey to my wardrobe too. I love it with white. YLF :)

Looks excellent -- I love how the shoes and the sweater bookend. I need a white belt!

Thanks, Shannon!  for helping me rid myself of horrible connotations with white belts -- a childhood trauma, really -- the memory of grown men with sideburns and baby blue (or in one case) lemon yellow leisure suits.

Yes, white belts have been redeemed.  Whew!

Oh......and this looks terrific.  Grey and white are terrific.

The white really makes this outfit shine!  Love the belt!  So perfect!  And the greys soften up the white so it doesn't feel so stark.  Lovely outfit!

The white makes all the difference here, taking the outfit from muted to brighter! White a magical that way.

A super duper casual outfit that looks understated and very stylish, Shannon. xo

beth ann- your comments on the white belt was so what i was thinking... my grandfather always wore a white belt!
but shannon, you have made it a fashion piece worthy of trying!

I admit a white belt does bring back bad visuals of men in seersucker leisure suits while wearing socks in white sandals...hopefully, this is more modern - lol!

Okay, you are TOTALLY inspiring me to try a white belt.  I love this outfit so much I can't stand it - now I want sized up skinnies in that color!

I am imagining your citron clutch with this outfit for an alternative look.

Say what, you bought a white purse at the Danier store too? Is it new? It's beautiful!

I love the look of gray with pops of white - I will have to try this myself!
  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago
Definitely citron clutch with grey next time!

Caro - not sure about white glasses...that would DEFINITELY be out of my comfort zone!

Karie - this white purse was a Christmas gift from my hubby & mother-in-law. I absolutely LOVE it.

Thanks everyone.  And for anyone looking for an incredibly comfortable completely flat oxford, I did a ton of walking today and these shoes were fantastic.
