Blondo Boot Confusion

Kelly recently posted a K/R thread regarding the Blondo boots that some of us purchased through NAS (http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....asp-i-know). The consensus was that the boots were tall for Kelly's legs.

I also purchased these boots and am only 5'1". When I look at the pics of my legs in the boots, they seem to be as tall on me as they are on Kelly. But the boots were deemed "keepers" for me.

Please educate me with your eyes and tell me what difference you see - am I missing something? Or are they shorter on me? These are the pics I posted in my original thread. I confess I did not post it as a K/R as I was in love with the boots, they were extremely comfortable and I knew I was keeping them.

Now I'm worried that they are too tall on me too!

Wasn't Kelly's issue the wrinkling, too? Do you also have that?

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

It was the wrinkling too. I do have that but not to an extent that bothers me in the least. I think many types of boots have that around the ankle and it's just the nature of how your ankle fits into the boot. No worries from me there!

For further confusion, you can throw mine into the mix, too (they met YLF approval).

    I don't mind the wrinkling and I'm 5'2"

Huh. I wonder if Kelly already took hers back.

Did Angie weigh in on anyone?

It may be we were not looking as closely because other items were blinding us with their brilliance in Sarah's post and yours. Although I seem to recall being very impressed with all your loot, boots included.

Shannon, to my eye, your boots look substantially different on you than Kelly's look on her. It's the shape and length of your leg. More of your kneecap is showing than hers is, and because your calves are curvier, I think that changes the way yours look on you, as well. On her, it looks like the boots are kind of taking over. FWIW, I think your boots look great on you.

Well this just gets more interesting doesn't it???

  • BethL replied 11 years ago

Remember, all of you could be the exact same height, wear the same pants, wear the same shoes, and you could all wear different inseams for PPL. Your different legs could be longer or shorter than each other's, and your torsos could vary as well.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

Suz - both Sarah and I got boot approvals from Angie (in fact we both got Killer ratings on the boots).

Beth - I really appreciate you weighing in and giving your observations. I was wondering if it had something to do with the shape of the leg. And you are correct that even if we were all the same height, the length of our shaft could vary. Sweet Rita (modgrl) bought the boots first and actually measured the height of her leg from heel to knee for me so I knew the boots would not be too tall.

    This is very educational!

  • BethL replied 11 years ago

No problem, Shannon. I'm 5'5", but my height is in my legs, not in my torso - it took me awhile to figure out how to dress my busty body. I just don't want you to be worried about your fabulous boots!

  • ElleH replied 11 years ago

I think the boots look good & if Angie said they are killer then you have your answer:)

  • Angie replied 11 years ago

    The explanation is easy:

    - Kelly probably wears a larger shoe size so her boots are taller. Shannon you wear a small shoe size so your boots are shorter.

    - Kelly's ankles and calves don't fill out the boots in the same way that you do, which makes them taller (and in Kelly's case TOO tall). When you fill something out, you shorten the length.

Hope that makes sense. The devil is in the detail :)

These boots fit Sarah and Shannon very well.

Thanks for the explanation Angie! Anyway, just wanted to say Shannon these boots look wonderful on you!

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

Angie - you are the Yoda of fashion!!! Thank you so much for the explanation. For the life of me, I couldn't figure it out. As for "filling" an item out, no problem here - LOL!

  • jayne replied 11 years ago

and...just because you are the height does not mean you have the same length calf as KG..you know, long torso/short torso...well that can also be long leg/short leg

I am 5' tall. I am wearing the boots with my twinnie dress today and I LOVE them. I wouldn't dream of sending them back. I'm not sure why they didn't work on kellygirl, but I think they work for both of us.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

We have GOT to do a twinnie day Rita with our dresses and boots - too fun!

  • kellygirl replied 11 years ago

Wow! I'm gone for a couple hours and I miss all of this boot talk! Lots of great information and now I know why I can't assume that the same boots will work for me even if they work on another petite YLF'r! I'm glad you posted this Shannon! Love the boots on you :)

  • rae replied 11 years ago

Angie has already spoken, but FWIW, they DO look shorter on you than on Kelly to my eye, Shannon. In her second pic, the shafts are actually touching the curves of her kneecaps, which I don't see on you. It's a slight difference, but it's enough. Those details CAN be such devils.

  • JR replied 11 years ago

Quite the education, for sure. Good stuff.

In my case, finding a pair I could get on at all was enough to sell me! LOL!

  • catgirl replied 11 years ago

Yes, knee placement is key. I think i have long thighs (or low knees?) because dresses that should be long on me are usually not... You look great and Kelly needs a pair to look as perfect, so you both made the right choice.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

I hope you don't mind me using your post for the discussion Kelly!

Thanks for all of the information ladies - I'm always learning something here!
