Shannon, the summer ones look SUPER. And may I also say that I love that white top. What is it? I like the way it's sewn with that curved seam.
I am not sure about the longer/bigger ones. This is my dilemma, too - I don't happen to think that the BF look that great ON ME unrolled. I am going to experiment with a few pairs of shoes to make certain, but my own impression, looking at them (again, ON ME) was that the glimpse of ankle was the slenderizing bonus of the roll; it was what helped convey the reality that these are, indeed, baggy pants, and I'm not actually a guy. Know what I mean?
I have actually been thinking that I might wear them rolled in winter with my Marcies. Because the Marcies have a slim ankle, and some height, I think it might work. What about trying that for yourself, too?
The risk of wearing them rolled with a shoe that ends at the ankle is that you get a pile of horlzontal lines, even with these fairly neutral shoes. So it's a bit shortening. But maybe not as much IRL as in pics?

It's funny you mention rolled with the Marcies Suz 'cause I actually tried that (see pic below).
I appreciate your thoughts on the BF look as a fellow shortie. I agree that it is not conventionally figure flattering on shorter people, and especially when you add my "girth" to the mix. I'm suddenly starting to doubt the look on me and I'm not sure why.
As for the white top, it's actually a very soft cream colour and is a thrifted silk-blend Joe Fresh tee. It's extremely soft fabric and has a silk ribbon that creates the seams on the front (and duplicate ones on the back) as well as on the sleeve, which you can't really see. It's one of my favourite t-shirts.

Ooh, I like them rolled with your Marcies. I think they look great that way!

Looking at the first set of photos:
I LOVE #1. Those proportions look perfect to my eye.
I am less fond of #2. That length and roll looks unflattering to my eye. I am really hard to please with lengths, Shannon. You might be sorry that you asked :(
LOVE #3. Perfect!
Suz, I saw your BF jeans look yesterday and did manage a comment after I fainted.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Angie - and never sorry I asked!
So if I'm reading you right, leave #1 alone - they are fine. Wear the other ones full length. Have I got that right?

The look with the blazer and Marcies is fantastic and fun! I like the jeans (assume they are the same as in pic #1 from your original post?) a lot better just a tad slimmer on you. I think the second pair overwhelms you a bit.
Embracing this style is "out of the box" and is inspiring some creative thinking on ylf - I like your pairing the jeans with classic tees and jacket.

OK, Shannon, take this with a BIG grain of salt because I have a poisoned eye for the boyfriends that have infiltrated this forum but I REALLY LIKE that last outfit with the Marcies. Of all the boyfriends that I've seen wandering about, this the rare one who is making me rethink my aversion to this look!

I do agree that #1 is perfect. You look fantastic in that outfit! And I kind of also like the way the last post with the Marcie's looks - seems to be very figure flattering with that topper. I'm not as crazy about the look of the unrolled look. Maybe it's the larger size? Or the color of the shoes - but for some reason you don't look as tall to me in that photo as you do in the last photo with the Marcies. Go figure.

#4 (?) Funky BF with Marcies - love it! I'd like to hear Angie's take on that one (because I repeatedly need training in pants lengths ;-)
I also ADORE #1 -- you can't get much better than that!

Oh Shannon - I'm so glad that you posted these because I'm still trying to figure out how these are supposed to be worn and so your thread is giving me some more info! #1 - perfect, as everyone else says
#2 - I think the cuff is too bulky looking
#3 - I don't like them without a cuff - for some reason (and this is just my opinion) I think if I wear a jean full-length that I'm going to stick to skinnies or boot-cut
#4 - LOVE - absolutely perfect!
Also, I have the same question as you do about the width of the legs and tapering down to the ankles. When I tried on the 4, they seemed to better fit my thigh (although still baggy) and there was an obvious taper to the ankle. But the size 6 are super baggy in the legs and you don't really see the taper at the ankle. That is what I am hemming and hawing about and why I have taken the BFs back to the store and then after an hour and a half of trying on all different sizes and also getting Vicki's opinion, I ended up coming home with the sixes again - I just can't decide (and I cannot keep both, so that's not an option!)
Thanks for posting your pics!

YES!! I LOVE them with the Marcies. That is Killer to my eye, just like your #1.
Marley, I am on the same page as you. My eye is going to need adjusting to the BFs at full length, and I may never get adjusted to it. At least on myself, I'm not crazy about it yet.
I also feel the way you feel about the 4s vs. the 6s. Most everyone preferred the 6s on me, but I felt the 4s tapered a bit better to the ankle. It's a puzzle, that is for sure.
But one thing that is NOT a puzzle is that Shannon looks like a million bucks in pics 1 and 4!!!
Thank you for the info on the top in #1.
And I hope you won't mind if I shamelessly copy #4. In fact, when it gets cooler, can we have a twin day?

Oh, WOW! Shannon, I love these on you, especially what you've done in #1 and #3 in the first set of photos. Your photo of the rolled version with the Doc Marcies is spectacular...which size are these BFs, Shannon? I wasn't sure.
You've nailed it, so ENJOY! ;)

Marley - we will definitely all figure out these boyfriends of ours together! That's one of the things I really love about YLF - we all post our outfits with questions and concerns and can learn so much from each other.
Suz - thank you sweetie for love of the Marcies version. I'm wondering if I should take them down one roll though....hmmmm....will think on that. And I would be honoured to have you copy and even more so to have a twin day. We definitely seem to be developing some strong similarities in our style - right down to exact items!
Vicki - the BF's with the Marcies are the smaller of my two sizes (same as pic #1) and the ones unrolled are the larger of the two sizes.
it was cool here today so I wore my BF's with a striped Gap v-neck tee, men's tribal vintage belt and a plain pair of small wedge black Mary-Janes. Sorry for no pic - but I did think it worked. I'm really questioning the larger of my two sizes of the jeans though...not so much in the waist but in the leg width. I'm seriously considering trying the Kut from the Kloth Catherines.
I will also say that as much as I'm enjoying trying the BF trend, I definitely feel more attractive in my Gap Long & Leans and my newly thrifted faded flares (which still need to be shortened).

Shannon, this is a bit OT, but that photo of you with your BF's and Doc Marcies is so amazing, I wanted to ask here: What about stability and sure-footedness of these boots as the height is an inch or so past my comfort level? I love the way they look on you with your jeans and I think Suz and Rae are shoe triplets with you. If I get these, I am so copying you! ;) I don't think the black is available any longer (the color I want), but the brown may be. Thanks.

Hey Vicki - sorry I missed this. Been off for a few days. I've answered your PM.
