WIW: Column of white w/navy lace

It's a little chillier today so perfect weather for wearing full length white jeans. I started my outfit with my TR Brianna white jeans. I love the slightly relaxed but not overly baggy fit of these. I've added a simple white cotton tee (semi tucked) and then topped that with my navy lace jacket (with scrunched sleeves). I went with my bone/silver shoe sandals for footwear, a simple white leather belt and watermelon coloured handbag for accessories, and my silver Gucci watch/silver bangle/silver wedding band for jewelry (absolutely adore silver jewelry with white). Red specs finish it off.

I never EVER would have tried white jeans never mind a column of white, pre YLF. Everything I was taught indicated you don't wear white when you're not slim. Well you know what? "Pooey" on that I say!

So what do you think? does it all work together? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

WIW: lace & cargo

It drives me crazy how these cargo pants photograph black when in fact they are a true olive green. I think I'm going to go back to my camera for pics instead of the camera app on my phone since I'm not happy with these pictures.

Anyhoo...today's outfit started with my olive cargo pants as it's a bit rainy and cool today. I paired the pants with my cream lace tee, semi tucked into an animal print belt. I then chose my cream laser cut oxfords to mimic and bookend the lace tee. For accessories I went with my snakeskin handbag which has olive, cream and taupe tones in it, and my taupe/silver wrap watch. Finally I went with my purple/clear specs and a swipe of my watermelon shade lipstick.

What are your thoughts on this outfit? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

WIW: EF dress with cream moto vest

I've been wanting a white or cream moto style vest for spring/summer but the ones I tried were all too long or the arm holes way too deep. I also didn't want lining as that would make it too hot for high summer.

I found this fab knit number a couple of weeks ago and today is its debut. I've popped the vest over my black EF drape front dress for a high contrast outfit. I also like the juxtaposition of the angular vest with the soft drape of the dress. The sleeves of the dress aren't the best for a vest but it's not an outfit breaker for me.

I decided to keep the outfit cream and black so chose my bone/silver sandal shoes and my oversized snakeskin print clutch. A large silver bangle watch and red specs finish off the outfit.

What do you think? Does this work? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

WIW: Thanks to Ironkurtain

When IK joined YLF, I was instantly intrigued by her fabulous layering with such luxurious fabrics. I was particularly curious about Eileen Fisher since IK spoke so highly about the feel of her clothes, the breath ability and the way they held up. This clearly stuck in my mind. As I began to explore the idea of more comfortable pieces for my wardrobe, EF stuck out as a brand to try. Thanks IK for the inspiration!

Today's outfit started with my EF cropped pants, this time rolled for a bit more ankle showing and to give a bit more taper. I do like them unrolled as well so it's nice to have different length options. To go with the pants, I chose my newly arrived EF blue linen blend boxy hi-lo oversized pullover - with a black tank layered underneath for modesty. This pullover also looks fab with white bottoms, BF jeans and shorts and my VC tube skirts. I went with my black sandals for footwear and my quilted leather blue/cream/black handbag. Red specs finish off the outfit.

So what do you think? Does this type of look work on me? The comfort and happiness factors are definitely high. As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

WIW: for the Board

It's the last meeting of the Board of Directors at work today before their summer hiatus so decided to go "full suit". Pastel blue suit that is.

I've paired the suit with my black and white drapey tee and my black low heeled sandals to take some of the sweetness out of the pastel blue colour. I then added my citron clutch for a pop of unexpected colour. Black and white specs and silver watch/bangle/wedding ring finish off the outfit.

Does this work? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome. This is probably the last wearing of this suit for a while as the heat has hit now.

I'm experimenting with a new camera app on my phone so you'll have to bear with me as I figure it out :)
