WIW: Gold & Animal

My wonky knee has been quite sore lately so needed to take a break from heels today and pulled out my black leather/animal print flat pointy toe oxfords. These shoes are waaaaaaaaay comfortable.

I paired the animal print shoes with my burgundy skinnies (I overexposed my pics a bit to try and show the burgundy colour since they tend to photograph black) and semi tucked my gold metallic fluid knit pullover, this time leaving the sleeves long. I added my snakeskin belt and decided "what the heck" and chose my snakeskin handbag too. No jewelry other than my gold wedding band.

These shoes are high contrast again the burgundy skinnies and I will admit to feeling very short and stumpy in this outfit. But I still think it all works together and is certainly very comfy.

What do think? Does it work? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

WIW: A beautiful mistake

I ordered these navy with black stripe tux trousers on Boxing Day and when they arrived, they were too big. However they were sold out of the smaller size and when I called, were not planning on getting in any more. Then I forgot about the trousers and didn't get them returned by the return expiry date. I was stuck with them. So I decided to try and deliberately shrink them - they are machine washable on cold and hang to dry but I figured "what the heck" and tossed them in the dryer on warm to see what would happen. They shrunk to the perfect fit! I got them back from hemming last night and am debuting them today.

The navy and black trousers are paired with my favourite asymmetrical ruched tank and topped with my black blazer from my skirt suit, with scrunched sleeves of course. Footwear is my black patent booties - what I took with me to the seamstress for the hem length. Jewelry is my silver wedding band and a chunky gun metal cuff. I went with my olive yellow/cobalt snakeskin clutch for a handbag and finished off the outfit with a swipe of dark red lipstick.

To say I'm pleased with this outfit is an understatement. I feel great in this and I wish the colours showed up better in the pics (dark outfits are so difficult to photograph). As opposed to yesterday's outfit, this is the new ME style - some softness with drape, crisp lines and strong shoulders with the jacket, and a bit of edge.

So what do you think? Do the trousers now work? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

WIW: Blush, black & a bit of animal

This Zara blush asymmetrical jacket hasn't been worn very much - I think it's the colour. I love this jacket and was thrilled when I found it at the thrift store with new tags still attached. The quality is lovely and the wool blend non itchy. I love the asymmetrical style with the back ruching and how it can be worn fully done up, partially done up, or undone - changing up the style each way. But the colour is "iffy" for me. I can't wear beige as it is truly soul sucking for me but this is more blush.

I popped this jacket overtop my simple black sheath dress with sheer black hose. I chose my animal print pumps for some pattern and visual interest and decided to be unexpected in my handbag choice and went with my quilted red leather bag. Love blush and red together.

Jewelry is my gold wedding band and my rose gold/black watch.

So what do you think? does this jacket deserve to stay in my closet or is the colour not working for me? And what is your opinion of the entire outfit? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

WIW: Grey, navy & white (with makeup pic)

Good morning my lovelies :)

Today's outfit started with my navy Lanai blazer, which I realize I hadn't worn for quite some time. I chose my false grey plaid wide legged trousers and paired them with my white cross over tee, topped with the navy blazer. For footwear, I went with my black patent booties although I'm seriously thinking about hunting down a pair of  cream booties with a heel to wear with trousers… I chose my light cream handbag to go with the white tee and jewelry is my silver wedding band and a vintage grey/silver bangle.

And for those who wanted a close up picture of my new make up (have switched to a local company and am using now a tinted moisturizer instead of mineral foundation) - here you are. All I'm wearing is tinted moisturizer (over top of my regular moisturizer since my skin is quite dry in the winter), a dab of  cream foundation stick on a couple of age spots, a wee bit of cream blush blended in, a swipe of cream eyeliner, mascara and my new lipgloss. I'm quite happy with the soft and dewey look this gives my face.

Anyway…what do you think of the outfit and the makeup? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.
