WIW: Yellow, grey, cream & denim (ETA quick change made - pic now added)

This is perhaps the worst set of pics I've taken of myself in some time...however, I didn't have time to re-take them so you'll have to imagine that the outfit does look somewhat better IRL than I've shown you here.

This outfit is inspired by Sveta, who has worn her yellow Academy blazer in so many wonderful ways. I've paired this bright yellow blazer with a soft grey knit sleeveless top, which is semi-tucked into my denim BF jeans. I've added my snakeskin belt for some pattern and visual interest. My footwear are the bone oxfords again and handbag, my cream satchel.

I think this works, but I'm not entirely sure. What do you think? As always, all comments/suggestions are welcome.

Blazer: Gap
Top: Sears
Belt: Olsen Europe (thrifted)
Jeans: Canyon River Blues
Shoes: Dolce Vita
Handbag: Danier Leather

ETA: You're all brilliant! Although I don't mind the lack of tapering in these BF jeans and have worn them successfully in previous outfits, I don't think they work here. So I quickly changed the jeans to my grey sized up skinnies and rolled them like BF's (they are the exact same jeans as the white BF's I wore yesterday). They fit much better and are nicely tapered on the leg. Perfect! Will try and get a pic later.

Added the new pic (#4) with the grey jeans - quick snap from my office. Better?

WIW: Vintage Polka Dots

There are few things that are cheerier to wear than polka dots, don't you think?

Today's outfit started with my vintage red/white polka dot silk jacket. I usually wear this jacket buttoned up as I adore the peplum effect when buttoned, but today I decided to wear it open in a more "kimono-esque" fashion. This also allows me to do my column of colour for a lengthening effect. My column of colour today is all white with my white BF jeans, wide white leather belt and a slightly oversized white tee. Although I'm still on the hunt for the perfect slouchy white tee, this one will certainly do in the meantime.

I've finished off the outfit with my light cream satchel, bone laser cut oxfords and white watch. Again, there are a few shades of white, cream and bone in the same outfit.

What do you think? Is the vintage jacket working in a modern way? How are the proportions? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Could you see me in this?

There's something about this Eileen Fisher merino wool cascading front cardigan that is very appealing to me - in fact, I can't seem to stop looking at it. IMO it is a cardigan but with structure. I am normally not a cardigan person because I prefer the structure of a blazer but there are cold days when I occasionally want to wrap myself in something softer, you know?

I like the slim sleeves, the ruffles cascading down the front, but then in the back the waist is accentuated. It also has this hi-lo peplum effect. It is not a typical shapeless cardigan.

I can see it over top my black sheath dress with tights and boots on a colder day, over a white tee and jeans, etc. But it is different for me so I'm curious - could you see me in this?

This is a slightly hypothetical and slightly real question - it is currently available in my size at a fabulous price, complete with returns.

WIW: Blue Stripes & White

I realized this morning while getting dressed that I am following one of Angie's desires for us by wearing the heck out of my stuff this season. I find it most interesting that my wardrobe (including footwear) is smaller this spring/summer than it's ever been and yet I'm happier with what I have. I guess this boils down to choosing my items more thoughtfully than I did in previous seasons/years and really loving what I have. It's a good feeling :)

Today's outfit started with my blue/navy/white striped blouson style midi dress. I added my thinner white leather belt at the waist and topped the dress with my white blazer, which has already turned into a summer workhorse. Footwear consists of my Fugitive bone/silver sandals and my handbag is Little Bag Blue.

Happiness factor? Sky high.

Would love your observations - how does this all look to your eye? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

WIW: Shorts Sorta Suit

Dare you to say that 10 times fast ... shorts sorta suit, shorts sorta suit....

I have a bit of a weird day today involving packing some supplies at work, going to a brief but important meeting and then an appointment with my gyne-onc and some more medical tests. I need to be comfortable and have ease of movement, still be professional and have quick access to my "lady parts". That's a tall order for one outfit!

So out came my silky shorts, which I cannot get enough of. I paired them with my yellow/grey/cream/taupe drapey tank and then topped that with my 3/4 sleeve light weight black knit blazer. This made for a shorts suit look. I then added my patent pointy toe pumps with the circular cut outs. Accessories consisted of my light cream satchel and my white watch.

I think this outfit covers all my needs today? What do you think - does it all work together? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

WIW: White, orange & cobalt

Today's outfit started with my white slimmer fitting cropped white pants. These were slightly too short to wear full length but instead of having them hemmed, I decided to just cuff them twice. Does it work?

I paired the white bottoms with a bright orange slightly slouchy, very light weight knit sweater. I forgot to show you the back but it has an exposed gold zipper all the way from hem to neck. It also has two front (almost side actually) pockets with gold grommet detailing (they don't show well in the pics).

For footwear, I went with my bone laser cut oxfords which, now that they are completely broken in, are like slippers.  And for my handbag, I went with LBB (Little Bag Blue). Love the bright combo of white, orange and cobalt.

What do you think? does it all work together? proportions ok? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

WIW: Lotsa white & LBB debut

Happy Saturday everyone! I just finished spending most of the day digging in my garden - one of my all time favourite past times and am heading out in a bit to get my hair trimmed and a bit of pampering at my local salon. What a fabulous day :)

I'm so obsessed with white these days it seems I need some in every outfit I wear. Today I started with my Gap grey/white patterned tee and semi tucked it into a pair of recently thrifted white BF shorts. Now these shorts are seriously BIG on me and will fall off if I take off the belt. But I adore the fit and length and they are just so darned comfy. (P.S. they are doing something strange in my second pic in the crotch area but I assure you, it's just the way I'm standing).

For footwear, I added my bone/silver sandals which I want to wear all the time. Then to top off the outfit, I'm debuting LBB (Little Bag Blue- thanks for the name Rae!) which I posted my lust for yesterday and promptly bought on my way home from work the same day. I love the quilted cobalt leather, the cream sides and the black trim on everything. I also love the gold hardware and retro shape. I'm in love :)

So what do you think? does this all work together? does the fit on the shorts work ok? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

WIW: Hole-y sweater & Blondo sandals

TGIF!!!

Today's Denim Day outfit for work started with my favourite BF jeans. I then added my white laser cut pull over semi tucked with a wide white leather belt. For footwear, I added my Blondo sandals - I really like how the criss-cross straps give you a high vamp and at the same time seem to elongate the leg line. My handbag is my citron clutch (a true workhorse this summer) and jewelry consists of a silver ring on each hand.

I did think of wearing my silver/bone sandals but thought that would be a bit more predictable so went with the Blondos instead.

I feel put together, comfortable and still stylish. How does it look to your eye? Everything work together? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

WIW: Cobalt & White

I'm so in love with all things white this summer - it's bordering on an obsession!

Today's outfit started with my white blazer and underneath that, I have on a  colourful Cleo tank purchased a few weeks ago. I like the gathered neckline of this tank and the detail of the navy shoulders (which are nice and wide, which I truly appreciate). I've paired the tank with my cobalt knit pencil skirt and for footwear, my silver/bone sandals.

For accessories I'm wearing my white watch and carrying my light cream handbag. Again, there is a mix of white shades in this outfit.

What do you think? Does it all work together? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Shout out to MaryK for her fabulous white blazer inspiration outfits :)

WIW: Silky shorts & floral moto

Decided to take a WIW pic when I got home from work after all. My day didn't feel complete without this place :)

I combined my silky slouchy shorts with a black cowl neck tank, semi-tucked to show my black and taupe snakeskin belt. On top of that I popped on my Club Monaco floral moto jacket. I would have preferred a white slouchy tee with this combination but have yet to find the right one. I added my taupe pointy toe pumps and I like how both the shoes and the belt bring out the taupe colour that is scattered here and there in the jacket. My light cream satchel handbag rounded out the outfit.

What do you think? does it all work together? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

BTW I've posted a thread in the Off Topics section if you would like to know what's going with me.
