WIW: Lace Dress & Bomber

When I mentioned to Angie in her blog post about bomber jackets and how to wear them, she suggested pairing my black/white bomber with my navy lace dress. So I decided to give it a go today and here it is.

I picked up this cotton black/white bomber for next to nothing on a clearance rack at The Bay and thought it would be the perfect one to try this new trend - not expensive and not too "out there" style wise, you know? The sleeves are ridiculously long on me but because they have a zipper at the bottom of the sleeve, I'm not going to pay to have the sleeves altered as that would cost more than the jacket itself. So I've just cuffed and scrunched.

I've had the navy lace dress for three years now and will wear this baby until it is a rag - it is by far my favourite dress. And although it is technically dressy because it is lace, I have worn it both dressed up and dressed down and find it very versatile.

I'm also wearing nude hose and my new black pointy toe kitten heel pumps. I really like the pairing of a ladylike dress and pumps with the bomber jacket. Seems so naughty :)

Accessories are limited to my blue/silver bracelet and my navy vintage handbag.

So what do you think of this pairing and this look on me? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

WIW: Casual for a Working Non-Work Day

Technically it is a day off for me (our Administrative Office has an extended Easter weekend) but because I am single-handedly responsible for the payroll of 68 Obstetricians and Gynecologists, I have to go in to work for a couple of hours this morning to do the payroll or those docs won't get paid. But there will be nobody else in our office so I'm going casual all the way.

It's turned cold again - in fact, it snowed yesterday - so started out choosing my green cashmere sweater. I've paired it with my grey slouchy slim jeans, semi tucked to show a leather and stud belt. I've popped on my black wedge booties for comfort and warmth and am wearing my black leather with gold hardware slouchy handbag.

I really like the pairing of this sweater and these jeans - both in fit and in color. What do you think? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Sweater: Lord & Taylor
Jeans: Jessica Simpson
